One poem by Dale Patterson

That Monkey

has feelings
knows more
than you think.
Look at the mud
in his eyes
heavy in volume
the air on his lips
cussing you out.
See as he rattles
his cage.
He's watching you
laugh at his antics
your superior
point-of-view
that sneers
at his love
his poem
that he writes
with opposable
thumbs.
